Sofia’s Wedding in Nisswa, MN

There are some wedding mornings that just feel good from the moment you walk in—and Sofia’s wedding day in Nisswa was exactly that.

From the sweetest bridesmaids to music playing in the background and everyone singing together while they got ready, the morning was filled with so much warmth and excitement. And honestly, those are some of my favorite wedding mornings to be a part of.

Getting Ready at Grand View Lodge

Grand View Lodge is such a beautiful setting for a Minnesota wedding, surrounded by the Northwoods and Gull Lake. The property has that classic, timeless feeling that makes a wedding day feel special without needing to overdo it.

But what really stood out about Sofia’s morning was the energy in the room.

There was so much laughter, music, getting ready, and excitement—and it made the entire morning feel light and joyful.

Sofia’s Classic Bridal Look

For Sofia’s bridal makeup, we went for a look that felt just like her: glowy, feminine, soft, and timeless.

She wore the most beautiful simple and classy wedding dress, so we wanted the makeup to complement it rather than compete with it.

Her skin was kept fresh and radiant, with a soft glow that looked beautiful in person and photographed beautifully. We added a warm bronze to bring dimension to the face, paired with soft pink cheeks for that naturally flushed bridal look.

The result was polished without feeling overly done.

There is something so beautiful about a bride who still looks completely like herself on her wedding day—and Sofia’s look was exactly that.

A Wedding Morning Full of Connection

One of my favorite parts of being a bridal makeup artist is getting to experience these little in-between moments.

The final touches of makeup. Bridesmaids laughing in the background. Someone fixing their dress. Music playing. Everyone realizing, this is actually happening.

Sofia’s wedding morning had so much of that.

Her bridesmaids brought such a sweet energy to the room, and watching them sing together while getting ready was such a beautiful reminder that weddings aren't only about the big moments. They’re about the people standing beside you, the friendships that have carried you here, and the tiny memories you’ll think about years later.
